    I am just curious how much dye you put in each egg. That little blue one is wayyyyy bluer than any blue chick in the feed stores at easter. Even the tip of his beak and his little feet are almost electric blue. I sure hope he likes blue. Very cute nonetheless and grats on your little...

    Quote: I would not think it is illegal since a lot of hatcheries sell dyed chicks and ducks at easter time and they ship them all over the country but I am sure there are places that have created laws in regards to them. Seems silly though because it won't hurt the embryos at all.

    I think its really neat but personally I would be a nervous wreck trying to do this and I would chicken out....no pun intended.

    I always thought they were dyed after hatch but then I came here and learned that you can inject a small amount of dye into the fluid end of the egg, NOT THE CHICK, during incubation. I thought at first this was horrible but after much research and reading I have found that lots of people do...
