How can I encourage her to lay eggs? She goes into the horse barn and roosts on top of the stall divider at night. Should I put a box or shelf in there?

Thanks, I'd like to get more like her. She was a rescue case. My parents found her sitting on eggs at one of their rental houses but couldn't bring her to us at that time. 2 MONTHS later, she was still sitting on her eggs and when they lifted her off the eggs, the eggs exploded (rotten) one...
