I felt the irony a few years ago when I sold Chantecler chicks (from Michigan) to customs north of the border. I don't have Chanteclers anymore, but still get asked for them.

Silver (S), recessive white (C) and dominant white (I) are at different loci, so white Chanteclers would ideally be at least both recessive white and silver, plus may include dominant white and some other white enhancing genes.

I'm dropping the LF buff and partridge Chanteclers after the National Meet in Indiana this October. I'll continue to concentrate on Ameraucanas and a few other breeds of bantams. Check out the Chantecler club's breeders directory for some contacts...

    Chantecler Thread!

Good ideas and I checked most over the years. Most sites show partridge chicks (Wyandotte's, Rocks, etc.) with a brown forehead, but mine with spotted foreheads seem to mature into just a good partridge adults as mine with brown foreheads. I have marked chicks for a few years to see their...

Shelly, Have you found any preference in day-old partridge chick phenotype that translates into proper adult color/pattern?
