this is our volunteer 45 to 50 year old apple tree
it grew between the pines. the branches on the opposite side are long ago dead and gone.
each of the two trunks porduce a different kind of apple.

I free ranged . so all I had to do was keep the feeder and waterer filled.

I never heard of them either.
I never had a big die off of chicks I ordered through the feed mill. I generally ordered direct from the hatchery, though. McMurray always replaced dead ones or gave credit for them.
USPS is hard on shipped chicks. They just don't care..
DW was driving us home in that snow. when we left town, the snow was melting as fast as it hit the windshield. we had ten miles to go.
half way home the snow began to stick to the road. My wife is fearless when it comes to driving on slippery roads. I on the other hand am not a fearless...
