If it was another breed, I'd be into that! But the seramas are obviously too small and I can't convince my husband to get on board with the Svart Honas black meat!
I haven't kept up with you nice people in awhile but summers been busy! I've hatched too much and now I'm overloaded, so if anyone has any interest in svart hona cockerels or serama cockerels for that matter, please message me! I'm NW side of the state - 16335. I need to do some downsizing! Eek!
I have that coop too and I love it! I just use it for a trio of Svart Honas for the meantime, but I love all the access points. I put an extra 12 foot run off of the small door in the front and it's working great. Thinking of buying a second one :)
I love Instagram! I'll have to check you out. :) Mines a personal account, so only about every 5th post is chicken related. ;) Haha.
One fifth... That's about the ratio for my real life anyway...

Loribischof, here's mine! I just took to calling her Meep after all the incessant chirping after her brothers left. :) Isn't it crazy how white she stayed? Looks so different than your boys!
Look at him!! So cute. Thanks for the pictures!! I seriously love seeing them as they grow. I've got to get a pic of mine for you... she looks so different from the rest of my girls. The kids enjoyed their photoshoot? :)
I have no personal experience with this but I just mentioned this to someone else dealing with a severe comb injury -- consider that birds like Old English Game Bantams sometimes have combs and wattles intentionally cut off for show, so... I guess use your best judgement and then if it comes...
Just lately I'm falling under the spell of the broody. It is so stinkin easy if you've got a hen working for you! Especially in the summertime. So stress free. I'm not saying I'll do it that way all the time because I don't necessarily like the way my chicks end up absolutely wild (because I...
Oh yeah, this guy is a little Serama, so you'd think he'd be pretty quiet, but I think he tries to compete with the Cochin roo that calls from across the yard. Still, it's not deafening, and I like him a lot. :) But I'm not into his idea of "morning"!
One of my guys is muffled enough in his coop that he doesn't bother the neighbors, but his idea of morning is about 5 to 5... not cool. One Friday night I forgot to put him back in and he started right next to my bedroom window. NOT COOL AT ALL.
