Diamond high protein is what we use and he ate about six cups of it this morning. I am not sure he even knows his name. He has done well on his first day. He has already...

Our pit bull has taken quite a few coons without damage to her but she sleeps inside with our baby and is a big baby herself. We had a German shepherd that killed every furry critter in sight but he also decided one day to kill 14 chickens so he got rehomed far away from chickens. We just...

got a new coop going up as weather permits. It is sitting on a pallet I got from work, it was used to ship a kenworth daycab. Its probably 300lbs of overkill. Its about 8'×6' with 6' walls. We will be building a walk in door with a pop up for the birds, and an entire wall for nesting boxes with...

@sharol hey your campines have been fully integrated into my flock and are doing great! On a side note they only like to eat scratch from my hand, not interested in what spills out hahaha. They have now taught my other birds to line up at the pen gate for treats! I a few weeks they will be...

@chicken danz I was planning on just clear coating the outside with some ppg paint from work. It is semi truck clear and will last a million miles. It would be done already but we had to start a new flock in there. They will be moving into a retrofitted tack house soon. Once they are big enough...

We went and picked up our piglets on sunday! They are grunting and digging up next years garden. Every bit of leftovers the chickens cant have the pigs are very appreciative for. I don't know which makes funnier happy noises.

Those campines are silly birds. I put them in a quarantine pen. They have a nice coop but wanted to roost on the roof instead. I picked up three and put them inside and the fourth walked around the roof for a while then decided not to be alone out here and jumped in for the night.

Danz, the insurance can cut you a check and you can still keep the truck. I work with insurance everyday and know some of their tricks.with a small bit of money you can buy a front cut of another truck and swap the parts

Ahh about that that bad luck....had a rat snake in my brooding coop, he got two chicks. Disposed of that guy to find a 5 foot garder in their too! Lizzy we had some terrible luck this year too. We had 15 healthy happy hatchery birds about 8 weeks old. Our dog killed 14 of them for sport. One very traumatized roo made his way back to the coop. I found him pacing back and forth looking for his flock. He is quite flighty now. We got him some...
