Cute enough to almost make me what ducks again, almost... Are these the French Scovies that you mentioned in a previous post? What makes them French? How do they differ from other Muscovy?

Ah ha! I like it! The first two birds pictured are Mauve- which is the combination of Blue & sex-linked Chocolate in the same bird.

The weather is perfect in Oakland today, so I snapped a few pics. It's a hard knock life... soaking up the sun, & dust bathing. I'm falling in love with this little Blue pullet, I need to name her, every day she seems to blossom more & more. & my Chocolate boy, a bit bleached...

Looks more like he injured his comb, or someone picked at his waddles and the scrapes have scabbed over... just a guess. But it doesn't look like pox, IMO.

Lovely Marans! They look like hearty, robust birds. How is the egg color from your hens?

What other varieties do you raise? Have you considered outcrossing to different colors for new blood?

Lovely Orps. Some of my girls took as long as 8 months to lay. I noticed after I outcrossed to an unrelated line their progeny all started laying much earlier, most just over 6 months.
