Yes her legs are yellow. She's just a pet so it's fine with me. She is the only one I have from the Garners. When she was little I was told her leg color would change - but they never did... Oh well!
Sorry about your pullet. I'm going to guess a hawk. We can't let ours free range because of hawks. The hawks here will dive down at a chicken right in front of us.
New2chooks, PRETTY girls, where/who are they from?
This is my first/oldest Ameraucana. Her beard finally started growing in. Can anyone tell me if they think she will have a nice full beard based on it's progression?
Thanks!
Beth
Oh I think the blue is really pretty, I just wasn't sure if that was normal according to standards. When I've seen BW hens usually I can't tell if they are BW or Wheaten. But on this pullet it's become so obvious.
This is the pullet I kept from the Garners. I am very new to BW's. It seems like a lot of blue on this pullet. Is that normal? And what's with the 2 tail feathers that are longer? I think she's adorable, I just wish she wasn't so flighty!
I was at the Garners a few weeks ago and picked a few chicks. I ended up only keeping one BW pullet, she's adorable (but flighty). Anyways, they have some pretty birds!
Thanks, Jean. All the eggs you sent me are fertile and developing well on day 13. . . it's amazing. I've never had shipped eggs do so well (esp from Washington). I look forward to your chicks joining these girls (fingers crossed).
