I wouldn't use neosporin unless they actually have an infection. Neosporin is basically petroleum jelly with anti-biotics in it. So if you're just worried about eye irritation, I'd go with the plain old Vaseline.

I am planning on getting some Faverolles eggs to hatch, too. This is what I'm worried about, though: What do you do when you get more males than females? Do you have to give some males away (and isn't it hard to find homes for roosters?)? I know Faverolles are supposed to be less aggressive...
