Hi all, glad to see everyone is doing fine. I have yet to figure out where these napoleon complexed birds get all their attitude! The 2 ladies that I have almost ruined a young pullet by plucking her and grabbing one leg while yanking on the other! Eeek! Then I kid you not, one of my millies...

My Cochins have longer and more sloped beaks, not as pointed. IMO - You should be able to tell by the size if they are standards, and if they are cochins, (hopeful) you will not see the vulture hock and that begins at a few days old where a Cochin of all sizes don't. Good luck! Pretty babies...

Its funny how the D's don't get along with other birds and most of my big girls don't care for the D'3 (roo & 2 hens) and Scooter our Bantam Cochin just plain old hates the D's and the cream colored Brabanters that we have. Other then that, Scooter is such a lover! Its funny. Its also amazing...

And I agree with everyone else, they are so darned cute it makes you want to squeeze them and snuggle them right up to you! Ok, experiment time, I put our new chicks in with our new day old turkey & broilers with the thought that maybe the Mareks will not come out in this little group.

Nadine and the others that have posted photos of D's, it kills me that I don't have enough time, space and feed money for this breed. We just put ours outside in a "hutch" , the neighbors old rabbit pen and we bleached & painted with a sealer. Then added hardware cloth and everyone seems pretty...

Greetings my fellow D'uccle lovers, summer has proven to be an adventure with all the little projects I've had going with multiple birds, but I must say, I have allowed my D's to run with my adult standard breed and I must say these little firecrackers hold their own and then some. I saw my...

Good thoughts Carolyn! We Got Chickens, I couldn't have said it any better. How awesome it is to see these little clowns out jabbering around. Interestingly, everyone claims how broody they are, but have only 1 in a few years actually go broody. Today is the day that I may get around to...

Chicks are always picking at their foot feathers around here, poop and they are cleaning off the cover of the feather that grows. I did notice that I had a number, 6 chicks or so that had a toe curled under their "sole " of their foot and course feathers that grew around some feet. I gave these...
