That is pretty much the road we are on now.. we have 4 nice looking Barred Rocks but not near as good looking as the Heritage bred birds..1 rooster 2 hens and a young cockerel that looks really nice but waiting to see how he turns out we are hoping to add some heritage birds into the mix before...

Picked these up today.. put add on CL looking for SS guy calls that has some and asked if i would be interested in these PR's ummm..YEAH !! 2 pullets and a cockeral.. very excited about them even more than the Speckled Sussex that i have been wanting

Thanks.. we bought 2 hens today that had pale legs our roo has very bright legs and the 4 young roos we sold had very bright legs so had me wondering what was best.

Hey guys new guy again Why do some rocks have bright yellow legs and some are pale yellow? and is one preferred over the other?

Just sold them all !! i posted them on craigslist this afternoon first call bought all of em..was worried i might have to give em away..lol
