The pea comb is closely associated with the blue-egg gene, but is not a guarantee. I would guess your straight-combed girl probably won't lay you a blue egg, but your girls are very pretty!
"I just found out I have 1 ee hen, I bought some barred rocks and the ee was mixed in I didn't have a clue what she was until 3 days ago when she layed her first egg BLUE and then two more to follow. YAY, I am so excited. I have her in with the barred rock rooster, what do I need to increase my...

OMG! That is the cutest thing! I so want a broody hen to raise a clutch, now.
Horsefeathers--I do like the cross. Just wish I had more room to raise a whole flock of them. How many do you have, and what color are they laying (if they are old enough?)
Wow, deja vu! I hatched out some orp/ee crosses, too!
I hatched out a lot of these babies, but sold most. I also had a hatchmate to these two, a pullet with muffs, but a coon got her
Ps Robin Red Breast is so cool looking, and the blues are just gorgeous
Love those blues !
She needs the aprons/saddles with 'wings'. Check out the 'Everything Else' auctions; that's where I got mine. Good prices and fast shipping

Also hatched out some Blue Slate Turkeys and Barnevelder chicks, but those pics are in other threads:cool:
Edited to add that I...
Newleyweds: I love Charlotte's dark coloring, too. I've never seen an EE quite like her before. She's quite unique!
Urbanfarmboi: Beautiful white speckled egg! Wish mine would lay something like that--would certainly lift my spirits to see something that pretty in the nestbox. I hope you get to...
Here are a couple of my 2month old EE xBlue Orp kids. I was hoping for a solid blue bird, but the rusty leakage is pretty, too. The cockerel is Tanqueray.
I sold the black chicks, so not sure how they are turning out. Anyone know what would happen if I bred the roo back to a brown EE? Blue...
