Mine did too when I first started talking about getting chickens and now she's the one out there talking with them and trying to make sure that the shy ones get enough food! LOL
My two girls are full size, so I'd say she'll catch up. Do you ferment your feed? If not, you might consider it which would make it easier for her to eat too.
Here's a thread on feeding fermented feed: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/644300/fermenting-feed-for-meat-birds
it talks about...
I have two cross beak girls that I'm waiting for them to start laying. They are both doing well. I don't think her beak will cause her to not lay any eggs.
Here's one of our younger boys...Gilderoy Lockhart. His mom is Wheaten Mararns/Ameraucana. His dad is full Blue Wheaten Ameraucana.
The pic was taken with my cellphone...
I had a broody hatch three yellow chicks yesterday with one egg still waiting to hatch. I have a mixed flock with W/BW Ameraucana roosters and I have no idea who the moms are since all my non Ameraucana girls lay brown eggs. Pics soon...
Does anyone have a picture of a Partridge Chantecler and a W/BW Ameraucana cross? Or a picture of what one may look like? I just acquired the chanteclers and will probably try that mix.
One of my EE's has gone broody and boy is she mean: she growls at any chicken that comes near her and she was pecking at me when I tried to see how many eggs she had! Now I just need to mark those eggs and let her cook'em! LOL!!
Last year I got 4 chicks from the local store and they were all roosters! This winter, I hatched 5 of my own EE eggs and they were all roosters. I have a much better rate if I buy eggs from someone else and hatch those!
