She looks so sweet with those little muffs and beard! I don't think her feathers look ugly at all - she looks like a down pillow!

Yay for surprises! Just like having kids...I think it is way more fun to not find out what you are having!

Me, too! Hooray for EEs! It's really hard to tell from the picture, but I have 3 EEs and the same 3 egg colors as you. Light green, olive green, and light blue. Your picture is great!

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Leg color is one of the attributes that determines if you have an EE (Araucana/Ameraucana mixed with another breed) or if you have a pure Araucana or pure Ameraucana. I think that is what COChix is trying to determine with her Isis. Yes, egg color is determined by genetics, but a rule of...

I think Marshmallow has greener legs than Isis. I don't have a close-up of her legs, but they are the same as her sister Caramel's legs in this pic: Marshmallow's egg is a light blue in person, too, while Caramel's is light green and Runny's is olive. I know there are Ameraucana threads...

    The EE braggers thread!!!

Got my first egg from Marshmallow yesterday and it was a 3-egg day...now all 3 of my EEs are laying! All slightly different colored eggs. Light olive, light greenish-blue, and light bluish-green. Really hard to describe or even get good pictures of the colors, isn't it?! Marshmallow's egg...

I have an EE 32 weeks old that hasn't laid yet. Her sisters laid at 26 weeks and 29 weeks. At least Miss 32 Weeks is starting to squat and check out the nest boxes.

Has anyone else found that their EEs settled down once they started laying? My most skittish girl (she would burst into flight in the run whenever I would try to catch her) lets me pick her up now. And she is more curious/attentive. When I open the coop door she hops down from the top roost...

My EEs have laid at 26 and 29 weeks and the third is still not laying yet. But, I gotta cut 'em some slack considering how cold November was!
