Thats great news! They arent black but Im so enamored with the huge hens I had to have some. Maybe in my next flock that Ill try to merge in a year or two when production begins to slow with this group Ill get a few more.
Please help me...My birds are now about 13 weeks old and here is the issue: I ordered (from Ideal) 2 Jersey black Giants along with some other birds. They looked like this when I got them:

turkeybreeder they DO look like your birds. I was just looking at my photo again-the group shot...and you know those legs look green like my EEs with pink toes... Im so stumped.
This is so aggravating because I have no personal point of reference...no experience. I just think those giants are so cool to look at and I have read they are docile. I have small kids and want birds they can be around without fear. I went to a show this weekend and saw lots of birds marked...
So I ordered 2 black pullets. They are feathering out white and someone on another thread says they may be white til they molt then turn black. Is that correct? I was so hoping for black.
