Kass, I feel for you!
Stacey, I get attached after hand raising them, teaching them to eat, playing with them. It's easier for my piece of mind to just give them a yard of their own with some girls. It's 1 in 100 they'll get any kind of good long term home on Craigslist. I'm good at other...
I posted these on another thread but thought Debi might like to see them here since they came from her eggs. They all turned out with such cool colors! I can't seem to get them placed with people I know and I care enough about them that I don't want to just put an ad on Craigslist so it looks...
Debi, one of the boys I hatched from you is coloring up exactly like that! It's wild and crazy looking and I just love it. I may've gotten 90% boys out of my hatch but they're *gorgeous* boys!
Those jealous haters stole one of his beautiful tufts?? Poor Ari :-( Plucked feathers grow back right away, if they're broken off they don't grow back til they molt.
My boys are getting some way cool looking colors, the 2 girls are just plain ole' BBR and Black lol I'm keeping the 4 boys I've...
Agreed, Kass! Aren't they're the most uppity and pretentious bunch?? I hate to say it, too, but they turned me off wanting any of their Ameraucanas, period.
ETA: I hope that comment doesn't get me in trouble. It's just pretty sad when a breed thread can turn you off from posting about that breed.
Sheesh, I'm sitting here with 5 boys out of a hatch of 7 and temped to buy yours lol!!
It says shipping is free in the ad, you might want to change that. Right there at the top. Down at the bottom it says the shipping price.
Volkova, not sure if she's Araucana, she may be an Easter Egger which would explain her awesome colors. Beautiful bird.
Alright, here's the pics I've been trying to get sized down to post of my Ray-n-Debi hatch, I hatched 7. The weirdest thing-when they were around 4 wks old I swear they had...
But, Kass, that's not fair. Whoever's responsible for teaching chickens to read the rule books has failed miserably.
That explains how I got mostly tailed from my hatch a few months ago. Because I know the parents were rumpless.
Lanae, I *love that Duckwing color on females. Good luck finding homes for them, you've got such beautiful birds. The price is excellent, it's the shipping that gets so dang expensive.
Do you know if 2 rumpless birds are bred together will I get 100% rumpless chicks?
I think he's beautiful! I'm so partial to mahogany and black colors together. He's going to be amazing when he's grown. And I honestly don't think you'll have a problem having 2 roos together.
Wait a minutes. SIlverfox I read your post wrong. Actually I was thinking just the opposite. That the 1st pic was possibly a pullet. I'm 99% sure the 2nd one is a roo. He acts all roo, too.
Silverfox, I hope you're right!
Kass, yes-the pictures were taken at different sides of a room so the pinker tint is the lighting. I didn't see the 3 rows either, that's why I started hoping it was a girl and not a boy like I'd thought all along. I thought I had 4 out of 7 boys but I may not...
Can I get another gender opinion? Originally I had thought both these were males. Now I'm starting to wonder if the 1st picture is a girl after all. They're 6 1/2 wks old.
Can anyone tell if the 1st is a girl? (I left the pictures big).
I forgot to put the tailed double tufted male is Black. That's the chart I was looking at and my Black and rumpless Splash should give me Blue
I want a Blue the shade of yours though-where do I put in my request for that shade? lol Hopefully the rumpless gene is dominant.
Wow, Stacy, they're beautiful! I love that frosty gray color. I wanted Blue (still do), that's one of my favorite chick colors. What nice coloring in them all :-))
From Deb's eggs I got a really pretty rumpless Splash pullet and a tailed male with huge double tufts.....now according to logics I...
Lanae, I'll have to go look up Blue Buff Columbian, I certainly never heard of that color before. The 2 pics are of the same bird, I've loved this color since this bird hatched. I've always pegged her for a girl also. I hope you're right about the wild type being pullet also!
Maybe I don't have...
