Since I'm new here, I'll confess that I have a BFA in metalsmithing... I can do this, although I have NO equipment to work with... so I'll do what makes it fun, improvise!

This will be made of 2 pieces (maybe 3), each side will be hammered out to form the shape and then soldered together. The hammering will workharden the copper a bit so it should withstand high winds etc.
I'll post picts as I make it, if you want to see how I do it.
I was pricing out weathervanes to put on the cupola I want to put on top of my coop..... and the prices are outragous!
I was going through my attic and found some copper sheet I saved from college (can't believe it's been so long)..... so i'm going to make my own!!
