Ok! There is definitely still black on the head. Her (force of habit) feet were black when she was born, but they are turning orange/yellow now. I know how to voice sex, but so far, she still just peeps. I've been thinking that it was a girl, but the green head was throwing me off. And my other...
I know and there are a few spots with a greenish hue on its body, but the entire head has a solid green hue and it looks like it's getting brighter in random areas.
So...I have a baby call (by baby I mean 5 1/2 weeks) whos head is turning green and its feet are turning yellow. I know that the green plumage on the head normal means that it's a drake...but it is a black bibbed call. I've never seen anything like it. Should I still assume that it's a drake?
I am in Michigan and am in search of any type of bantam duckling for sale. I had a single call duck hatch a few weeks ago and she is blind. The vet says she needs a companion, to help her figure things out, but the ban on poultry at the fairs is making it near impossible As long as it's a...
That's what I figured. He still stumbles around and he seems surprised when he hits the side of the brooder. He's loved regardless, I just wanted some input so I would be better prepared to make things easier for him if needed.
I'm at work, but you can see it in the left eye in this picture. That's not from the camera, it looks like that in person no matter what angle you look at his eyes from.

Most have VERY loose, saddle shaped air cells. A few of them are detached and one is in really bad shape and has multiple detached air pockets, but the yolk still looks in tact, so I left it. I already cut large holes in the bottom when I put them in the incubator. Thank you so much for the...
I received a batch of eggs and all of the air cells are in pretty rough shape. I let then settle for 24 hours and they are currently sitting in an egg carton, inside the incubator, without being turned for 48 hrs. My question is, after the 48 hours are up, would it be better to just tilt them...
Wanting input on misting duck eggs. I was wondering if adding a small amount of apple cider vinegar to the misting water would be beneficial. I know it's good for ducklings/ducks and I figured it's antibacterial properties may help to counteract any possible contamination during hand turning.
