Yes that what I see most greys hatch as the stripes partridge base , grey/ silver partridge, I have seen the greys with lots of white mostly around neck call chinchilla grey, I wonder if somehow the grey is just very diluted?? The father looks more blue then grey but that could just be photo...
Very pretty!! Hmm color? I would be tempted to say Columbian but I see not back in neck sooo, I'm gonna go with a Very light grey i can see some hinks of grey or lavender,I have seen many grey birds with wings like this , maybe with lavender?? Do you know parents? I would ask someone that breeds...
I have had mine take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months just depends on the hen and if they molt after it takes longer , just make sure u give her good food fresh water and extra vitamins, she will probably start soon :)
Ya most feed store chick's are being housed to many in small space, not enough fresh water, and little ventilation , too warm just check to make sure you have lots of room fresh water ,ventilation ,good food and keep their bums clean they will probably be fine soon :)
Awe cuties!! Did they come from a feed store/hatchery? They all look like white gold based I find the light chipmunk pattern indicates the white is hiding partridge so if you ever breed them to other colors you may get partridge :)
Looks very much like a cockerel and those do look like streamers , wide comb and very upright stance but the white ones are the hardest to sex I think ,very pretty bird tho ;)
Haha I know I did not come up with it ;) that's just what people call a silkie with silkie feathers (no barbs)and frizzle feathers I guess kind of like the phenotype the chicken displays :)
I can see pics much better now ;)
China is a sizzle (a silkie with smooth feathers that curl)
Snow white is a frilkie (a silkie with silkie feathering that curl)
And the black looks like a sizzle
Frizzle is just the curling back of the feathers there and can happen in many types of chickens...
sure no prob![/IMG]they are longer feathers that point backwards from the roos topknot this is a pic of my partridge boy 8mo easier to see with his color
The white is definitely a boy he has streamers back of head , black looks like roo also with a comb that wide can't tell if it has streamers tho, nice looking silkies!
