Does anyone on here know if silkie sexlink crosses are quality layers? I know silkies aren’t known for being the best layers because of their tendency to go broody but sexlink are super layers, does mixing the two end up with a hen that lays well?
Oh, I know right!? It makes it harder to get pictures of them up close without chopping part of their head off in the picture. Especially because chickens aren't big on standing still for photos
I'd suggest just buying a chicken harness from amazon if you're looking for one. https://www.amazon.com/My-Pet-Chicken-VAL001-Purple-X-Small-Harness/dp/B00XIMO4MM
One of my three silkies from the feed store. Will be 4 weeks old tomorrow.
This one is getting its crest way faster than the other two and is all around fluffier.
One of my almost 2week old silkies. I'm thinking it's a cockerel but hoping for a hen. Any ideas on color? The feathers so far are white but the down is kinda gray/silver
I have mystery silkies I guess. Haha
I've never even heard of spotted buffs. Can't wait to see how it gets its feathers in over the next could weeks
I don't care all that much what they end up looking like they're all gorgeous to me as long as they are female. :D
I will! I have two others one looks buff and the other just white. I got them from TSC but I'm impressed with how nice they actually look. They all have straight combs though but that's fine.
Just brought these guys home (hopefully they're girls) any ideas on color?

This one is white I think

This one I'm thinking might be buff?

And I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but this one has some patches that are a silvery color so I don't know.
