Silkie thread!

Thanks everyone. I think I have it under control now. Poop still wants to stick to their fuzzy little butts but their vents are staying clear. I do have them on vitamins in water and I use FF so the extra water in that should help as well. First time getting chicks from feed store and won't be doing it again I don't think. Still not sure about my little guy. I keep expecting to walk in and see that he's passed. Fingers are crossed I've done everything I can I believe.

I bought some chicks from the feed store about a month ago, and I had one Rhode island red that was soooooooooooo much smaller then everyone else. I was afraid she wouldn't last long because I had a orpingtons that was so much smaller then her siblings and she died. Thank God, this little chick is as sweet as she can be and growing just fine. She's even slowly catching up in size! The orp wouldn't even grow, but her feathers did. It was sad :(

Vitamins should help if its a vitamin deficiency causing the problem. My farm Mom said that not every chick that hatches necessarily makes it but sometimes the runts can surprise you. Hope your little guy improves.

Just brought these guys home (hopefully they're girls) any ideas on color?

And I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture but this one has some patches that are a silvery color so I don't know.

Took two days for the 11 week olds to figure out how to spike up their crests with the rain. Note the bird is dry other than the feet and head
