    Man! Poor chick! Try wrapping it with a band-aid. Make sure the toes aren't curled, they need to be straight, evenly spaced, and in their natural position.

    Yes, a brooder with a wire floor most definitely caused it!! It's most likely bumblefoot. I'm sorry, I really don't know how to treat it because I've never had the problem before.

    Last night the temp. was down in the 30s. Our Silkie chicks are 5-6 weeks old. They have been staying outside in the daytime and we bring them back to the brooder at night. Is it okay for them to stay outside for the whole night?
