You will not be able to tell gender until they are older. Silkies are actually supposed to have blue ear lobes, and non-beardeds would show small waddles. A chick being solitary is more of a concern than a gender indicator. It might not be feeling well so I would give them some electrolytes to try to perk it up. Do you have any pics? Silkies don't start laying until they are older, they are late bloomers. Anywhere between 6-12 monthsI have so many questions on my growing chicks! I have four. I have one that has a really shiny blue 'ear'. I also have 3including the blue ear one, tht have what I would ASSUME to be waddles? And one of my black ones is I'm guessing the only girl? Because she is always by herself while the other three play and run and flap around. She dosent have waddles and is the smallest. So if I have three guys and one girl what age do I start getting eggs? Anything will help!!ill upload pic ASAP
