This approx 6 week old pullet, I'm saying its a pullet cause I think she is, came from my 3 year silver partridge project. She was born with the correct color & markings. I just want a confirmation that she is indeed a silver partridge...I finally think, I also have a couple of boys....I've been...
I have sprouted plain oat seeds you buy at a mill successfully. The chickens loved them. Its just kinda a chore for me to do it in the winter when they could use it most.
My local mill has fish meal at $65 for 88 lbs. I use just a little bit when I mix up feed. Its 60% protein so goes a long...
I'm still looking for a silver partridge or grey cockerel or rooster.
I am beginning to wonder how the greys got approved, because no one seems to have any boys! LOL
I am going to the NEPC next week. Or, I will accept shipping....
I have 6 silver partridge girls, no boys. The only roos I have are black, white & partridge.

I'm not genetic whiz, but since hens have only 1 color gene, is it even possible to produce a "Calico" girl?
Just asking.....LOL
It looks to me that this "C alico" color is really just a bad colored silver partridge or birchen with red leakage or autosomal red.
I have a "Silver Partridge"...
Does she do it after eating? Sometimes mine make that sound after eating mash, I think they try to swallow or it goes down funny & they are trying to dislodge it. Or just the dust...its a guess.
My large fowl all have bucket waterers with nipples in the bottom that I hang up & they peck at the nipples for the water. I'm not sure the Silkies would be able to find them, or I would use them instead.
But their water will stay even cleaner with the pop bottle types I think.
Thanks for the...
