If they are getting red(bare) spots on their heads, necks or wings I'd say your roo is very active and could or should have more hens... Three hens is kinda a low number for an active roo.. I'd say you need closer to ten hens.... If you have the space if not it might be easier to seperate him...

There arnt any avian influenza banns in Florida? Most of the north and mid west USA have been hit hard I mean extremly hard to the point that this year we have lost 48 million birds and something like 1.8 million birds killed because a flock member was infected luckily my flock has been spared...
