Yes. I checked mine on monday and they were all dead.:( I had put in a sugar cube about 2 weeks ago and saw a few but did not look very long as I didn't want to keep open to long. I had fed them with a sugar board over winter, gave a sugar cake recently, and they still had plenty of food left...

Does anyone have a tried and true recipe for sugar cakes? Do you have to use lemongrass oil or spearmint oil? I have green tea/lemongrass tea I could use in the water, but not sure if this is acceptable. Any suggestions?

Thanks Deb B. We have a local bee supplier. I'm not sure if he sells the protective wear, but he prob sell smokers. I will go there tomorrow and see. I will wear something heavy and long sleeved. I take it you mean spray bees with sugar water and not me!!
