No doubt. My BA cockerel is turning out to be so pretty but I've got nowhere to put him while he grows up. Lol I already have an excellent rooster anyhow.
@Gramma Chick I got them at 8 weeks old from someone that had two pullets and two cockerals for sale, supposedly. The two cockerals were obvious then so we thought for awhile we had girls. *sigh*
I got some better photos. If anyone would like to help me figure out what my 12 week olds are, I started a thread here https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/895639/black-australorp-sexing-help-please
Thanks! :)
Lol Too funny. Well, whether they are or aren't, chances are I'll hear it eventually. I just came from a swap where we bought 7 more chicks! But I do hope at least one of my BAs is a pullet.
I got my camera back out, so I can use zoom and stop freaking them out with the noise my phone camera makes. Maybe I'll get better pictures. I want some good ones just to have anyhow. Thanks btw!
That's what I had figured and I thought would be the best way to do it. I got lucky in that these two farms are neighbors and friends with lots of traveling between them, so I didn't have to worry about mixing them up. I don't look forward to integrating new ones, though I agree that mixing...
When I brought mine home I mixed 5 week olds, 8 week olds, and a 1 1/2 year old rooster and they all did great. Maybe I got lucky, but they all rode home together from two neighboring farms and we never had a problem.
you know, I'd forgotten about the placement on the head. I'll have to pay attention to that. Does it mean anything when the comb looks more serrated? Thanks!
