Jersey Giants are suppose to have yellow on the bottom of the feet.
A pure bred Australorp should never exhibit yellow on the feet or beak. If they do they have something else mixed in and are not real Australorps.

Bob was struck by a car on a 4 lane hwy. He was flown by life flight helicopter to hospital in Atlanta. He is very lucky to be alive. I visited with him for a good while during dinner the night before it happened. It was quite a shock. I think he is still in Atlanta in the Hospital.

Hi Dan, I don't know if I would say you're missing something but the pictures that you are referencing is not the American SOP. That is from the Australian SOP and it is a bit different than the American.
This is a the current picture in the American SOP for a female Australorp.
She is 7 months old. As far as the cushion..I have steered clear of lines that have Orpingtons crossed in as it makes them have cushion and to much fluff in the back. At the Crossroads show a couple of years ago you couldn't really tell the difference between the Black Orps and the...
The bird pictured appears to have a 4 point comb. He does have a point on the blade but that doesn't count. The problem I have in my Orpingtons is to few of points, 80% of my birds have 3-4 points. The other 20% have 5. I have not had a Orpington with more than 5 points. I have 90% 5 point combs...
Stan, yes I will showing at Lake City next weekend. I am bringing 20 birds of 5 different breeds. I'm bringing 2 Australorps, a Cockerel and a pullet. They are a little young I think but I'm bringing them anyway. They are in excellent condition I just think they could use a little more time...
Tigercreek, mine are from Kirk Keene's line. I would assume that Australorps would be like most every other breed in that the show bred lines would be of much higher quality than hatchery lines.
I can't speak for the Brahma's either but my Australorps are very docile and friendly. They are also great layers and they are out of top show lines so I guess the old theory that show lines don't lay well is not true for this breed.
