    I noticed some of my hens have light (almost white) ears and some are darker. Since I read there is a direct correlation between ear color and egg color it made sense to me.

    I have been getting a variety all the way from the light light brown from some and the darker ones from others.

    Maybe she is an early bloomer. I had one like that and my first guess was a hen then I started wondering if she was a rooster because of the reddening of her crown. But luckily my first guess was right. I don't know if it help that I asked her to be a hen everyday.Ha ha.

    It's very hard to get good pictures of them. They are too busy foraging. The only thing that stops them is the potential for a treat.
