    Yes, I certainly hope so! She has been going in and out of the coop exploring the nesting boxes. She even squatted when I went near her today. Does this mean she has to lay?

    Yes, that is normal. My australorp is 9 weeks and still has some white feathers on her wings. The white feathers don't fall out, they just turn more black as they get older. That is what is happening to my australorp.:)

    It is a girl. I ordered it as a pullet baby chick from chickens for backyards. They are wonderful service!

    Australorp cockerels don't really get pink in the comb. I have had experience with a lot of them that turned out to be cockerels and their combs were never pink at that age.

    That is a rooster. Mine just turned 9 weeks and the feathers, tail and comb don't look anything like my pullet.

    Depending on its comb and waddles probably even 5 weeks
