He has the best personality, he never runs from me and I can pick him up very easily, he's always the first one to come to me when I'm bringing treats out for them, I will b sad to let him go.
I always thought he was a she, his name is Alice, but his comb has come in and my other Austrolorp has no comb yet, and they are the same age. So I'm thinking boy, that and the tail feathers, but no crow out of him yet, not even a little one...sigh, I guess I will just wait and see.
Yeah I was concerned about the front one, but now she's looking like a hen and Alice is looking Roo, time will tell I guess, hate to hav to process that one, she's (or he's) my sons chicken
Ok guys, I got some comb close ups. They are both Australorps, but from different parents and about 3-5 days apart in age.

I'm starting to worry that Alice is really going to be Alex!
Quick genetics question, if I breed a splash Austrolorp Roo with my two black hens, I will get 100% blue? Anyone know hat would happen if I bred him with my Buff Orpington?
I just noticed today that their butt fluff is really getting poofy!!! It wasn't even that fluffy yesterday! FLUFFY BUTTS!!!! I'm so excited!! I am having mosquito and chigger problems, no gnats, do gnats bite? If not be glad, I'm going broke on bug repellent.
Do their beaks change colors as they grow? One of mine has a good bit of orange on hers, then again she's a hatchery bird so there's no telling what her genetics are
