silver leghorn should give you good layers but egg colour depends on your girls too. if you don't have white egg layers you might end up with different shades of tinted eggs, maybe some white. if you like white eggs you should get a white egg layer pullet to be sure. my white leghorns lay jumbo...

faverolles are big birds. I am interested in coloured eggs only and I will hatch them with the broodies only. I am a backyard flock keeper, all I do is for me only. I am just concerned what to do with the cockerels that will hatch.

nice birds. the last black one looks like pullet. if only you have room for chickens you will end up with as many as they fit - just as the rest of us. I wanted 1 rooster and 4-5 hens, now I am around 15 + some chicks for meat, but at least 1 will stay!
