Oh for pity sakes....it's always something around here.....Thought I lost the only guinea I had left...the flock of almost 3 dozen hens and 2 guinea has been decimated over the last year, starting with the coyote attacks.....anyway down to 7 hens, 3 roosters (2 bantams) and 1 guinea......well a...
We have our first crower!!! Wouldn't ya know it was the littlest one AND the one we "were" calling Little Girl....guess the name will be changed to "LG".
Yikes, I didn't the gnats would cause problems with the chickens!! Mine are 11-12 weeks old, hope they are big enough now not to have to worry about that...I'm having enough problems with coyotes!!
Yesterday was a BAD BAD DAY. I lost 6 more chickens to a coyote at 5:30 yesterday afternoon.....I am so over this whole project. I am absolutely broken hearted. The coyote killed 4 and left them and I saw it carrying off at least 2.....couldn't find the shells to my rifle or there would be...
we're located in Greenwood, AR, how far away are you?? What would you be looking at for price and I really don't think we're necessarily looking at "pure" breeds, they are just pets, eggs layers and fun to watch!!

So happy we finally have decent weather...The kids have now spent almost a day and a half free ranging, and certainly seem to be loving it!! So excited to see them out of the coop!! I had initially planned to wait until they were 8 weeks old, but the weather and the crowding in the coop...
Here's my new babies, rec'd from Healthy Chicks and More on Thursday March 14, 2013 and some from Atwoods in Fort Smith, AR. So far happy as can be in their coop!
Rec'd my first chicks yesterday (ordered from Healthy Chicks and More). Post Office called at 0645 for me to come get them. We've never raised chicks before, but had chickens in Wisconsin...got them at an auction and were already laying. We would love to add some fancies to our flock if...
