Ok. Thank you so much. I believe the splash are from a breeder but I am not sure to be honest. I know this person sells marans all the time. I guess I will go with the deleware. They are 10 minutes from my house and the splash are little over an hour away. I think both birds are beautiful so I...
Ok everyone. Need some advice. I have a mixed flock of black australorp, barred rock, silkie, old english game. I come to you for opinion. I know many of you probably have more than just marans. My decision by tomorrow afternoon is this.....splash marans or deleware. I want friendly birds that...
I lost 2 of my 3 beloved marans this winter. I don't have any breeders near me. I have a local farm that has marans mixed in with others. Anyone able to recommend where I should order a few from? Thank you
no idea to be honest! this is our first year with chickens! But I am loving every minute of it! they are the greatest group of chickens. also have a EE roo and a cuckoo maran/rir mix hen! Thank you!
it was as if my dog or cat just gave birth! which they never have nor will, but I could just imagine it's like that! haha! the chicks won't be until springtime right?
wondering if anyone has any input on the color of these eggs. It was believed that our 3 oldest hens, now 19 weeks, were not purebred marans. Well we found our first 3 eggs today! yaaay! any input to egg coloring and possible maran eggs?
ok my splash has white feet and the two black ones do not have yellow feet. their feet are more of a slate color. a lighter version of their legs. their webbing is white and I would call the soles of their feet gray.
