You can get a mix of anything (temperment wise) with any breed. My Cuckoo Marans are sweet birds, there is not a mean one in the flock. They lay year round here, even in winter...and usually 2 out of 12 will go broody and are excellent moms. But, that said, I cannot speak for someone elses'...
