    From what I have been reading I think to get the silkied look, they'd have to have it from both sides. I bet the Cochin mixes will make a beautiful ball of fluff.

    I have a copper splash and he lets the other guy be in charge even thou he is bigger. They do everything together. I'm glad they don't fight but it's weird when they stand by and help out while the other is mating.

    I have quite a few Marans. She will be fine in the layer flock. She is so darn cute. Even if she doesn't get much bigger. All of the slow growers I've had in the past, caught up. She might too.

    I know this is a fuzzy picture but you can see thesize difference. These 2 Marans are the same age. 9 weeks. I've had runts and slow growers but never this big of a difference. Has anyone else ever had one this small ?

    How is this guy for breeding? He is almost 7 months. His points were longer but he didn't want to sleep in the coop. His feet have more feathers but they get rubbed off.

    I have found a lot of pictures of black and Splash legbars online but I don't know which are the prefered. Could someone please post an example of a very good black rooster, hen and a splash rooster? I just need a reference. Thanks.
