How old is the pullet?
It is my understanding that sometimes white juvenile feathers happen until after the moult in the first year.
If the pullet has gone through the moult.... probly not a great idea to use her for breeding...

Congrats on your Marans!
First eggs are always fun. Glad to here you straighten out your roo.. I have one that needs an attitude adjustment right now, but I have to find the time to set him right.. Until then, the kids are not alowed into that pen! (he is so bad the DH noticed!! and he really...
If you look at this guy, you can see that he has a sprig at the back of his comb.
Basically, he has a point that comes out of the side instead of straight up like it is supposed to.
I had one that was gorgeous with the exception of a sprig...
I can't find a picture of him..
I was going anyway... so figured I would talk with the judges and have a bird or two to talk about!
They are not very tame, so they are freeked that I am in the pen with them.... that could be the reason for high tail....
would love to be dragged to your place for a look see.. Syb is driving...
I have a beautiful boy and girl without alot of copper...
The body shape is right ... so I am working with him...
Barn Goddess... This is the boy and the girl is right behind his head, and the blue girl with the light underfluff... 18 weeks old soon...that I will be taking to the show.

Another question?
I have a lovely blue girl .... with light/white underfluff... is this the stuff you are talking about?
Should she be culled to the layer coop? or does the white not count on the blue birds?
I'll try and get a photo tonight.
Thanks
Patricia
Hey Triple J
Another Canadian here... I am hoping to meet BarnGoddess at the APA Show in Woodstock this October, are you in Ontario?... I happen to have gotten some "groceries" while on vacation in Nashville this summer.. My Marans (thank you Donna) have a great build, body shape and I did not...
I look forward to meeting you Barb.
I have little to no experience showing so I thought I would bring 5 of my best and just see what happens....
I decided to bring 2 of my BC Marans and one Blue Copper. I reviewed the sketch that was reposted here and I believe the 3 marans I will bring have...
Hi All
I have been lurking and sucking up knowledge from all the great posts here.
I have the pleasure of some of Donna's BC Marans and am VERY pleased with the shape of the birds.
My question to you all:
Is anyone coming north for the APA show on Oct 27th at Woodstock, Ontario, Canada?
Look...
Welcome Chicken Pickin - nice lookin little babies
I would also like to know about the colouring issue... I have a REALLY nicely built boy... 16 weeks... but next to no copper....
Thanks
Patricia
I had 2ft X 8ft runs made from pallets and a pc of wood over the top for a pair for a while... (one had a trio) They seemed really comfortable, no picking issues or real fighting... I also had one with two imature boys in it and they were ok?? (I liked it cause it was quick, easy to screw...
AAaawwwwww....
I want more babies around...
Side note... Anyone have luck with winter hatches?
I'm located across the river from Detroit MI (for those of you who are close)
Thanks
patricia
