BIng Bang yourself you have no idea how many years I have raised my dark cornish before selling them and if not buying birds from a place that knows it is having an outbreak of Cocci is giving up well then.... so be it. Your comment was uninformed, judgmental and rude. You can respond if you...
No I cancelled the order when he let slip he had a current outbreak of cocci on his place. Not worth the risk. I was surprised he was still willing to send chicks out when he knew he had a contagious disease in his paddocks.
"I keep my chicks in a separate area" he said. Hmmmm?? Well, unless...
Do it soon they can have heart attacks, break their legs and all kinds of painful problems. Their bones don't grow fast enough to keep up with the weight gain. Don't let them eat unlimited feed either. Sorry you ended up with birds not suited to you.
They sound to me to be Cornish X which are meat birds. They grow fast and heavy. If this is what they are it is better to sell them or give them to someone who is looking for meat birds. I cannot say for sure just my opinion
They are both fine looking birds. You might if you have room get both and see what kind of chicks you get. It may surprise you and you will be set with your first hatch. Or, you might need to develop a generation or two. It really depends on what you in the end are hoping for. My neighbor...
Ty appreciate it. I don't criticize someone's birds. It is like calling someone's baby ugly. Each person will love or like their birds for different reasons. A chicken to most on here is a pet or a project but well cared for just the same. You are very kind.
I have found what I want and do not know why you insist on attacking me. I am leaving this thread so I don't have to worry about offending you again with my comments or excitement. You are not blunt but quite rude really.
Not mine. My birds are pure bred Cornish and not a Cornish X there is a such thing. I plan on breeding my Cornish roo with some barred rocks. The barred rocks just started laying so I will be trying to hatch some in about a month
Hi I don't intend to use the birds pictured in my white breeding program they are to be crossed with my barred rocks and other dark Cornish hen. I have just secured some eggs to hatch that come from a white Maran roo and hen. As for width my roo is very thick and wide in the chest is just did...
Your birds look very nice but I do not agree my girl is lacking in anything. She is still very young and is well portioned for her age. She is a pure breed Cornish and not supposed to be as big as other breeds. He is 7 months old she is only 5
I don't plan on having any breeds that I would have to do that. Still looking at what I would like to do. RIght now it is just barred rocks with a RI roo and Cornish roo with Barred and one Cornish hens
They sound nice the chickens you have. Any photos of the snow whites they sound pretty
I am beginning to think and from comments nice and not so nice that I am chasing a snip but chasing things can be fun.
Hi I am looking for a white cornish rooster. Not a cornish X but a plain ole white cornish rooster in Arizona if possible. Or eggs from a white cornish hen and white rooster. I was told this is impossible but I am going to try anyway.
