Watermelon

Rain...huge amounts of rain. Most chickens don't enjoy rain, seems these girls think they are part duck.

When the cherry trees started dropping their petals at the end of flowering, the pullets had a field day picking them up.

Eggs Shells from breakfast, and left overs from our lunch...some salad and uneaten hotdogs and some pieces of bun and fruit salad. I just now tossed them left overs from dinner, fajitas, salad, and brown rice. They love the cooked bell peppers & onions as well as the thinly sliced flank steak...

GREAT IDEA...I'm picking up a can of corn on my way home tonight...

Hot day today....they got nice cold Watermelon Rind.

My cockerel will be going to a new home this weekend. We cannot have ROOs in the city limits. I gave him a tomato last night as a special treat...he deffinately enjoyed it. I'm glad that I was able to find him a home; he will be greatly missed.

The girls got a refreshing pile of Watermelon rinds and Cantalope rinds. ...hot day today...it hit 104 degrees on our thermometer.

I couldn't finish all of my breakfast before I headed off to UNC...so they got a little bit of eggs and toast. I kept the coffee for myself.

Everytime that I go out into the yard I bring the girls a treat. Usualy its Bird Seed....after a while they associate me with food. And whatever I give them they will usually try it...they MAY walk away in disgust...but they will usually try it. I don't think that giving them Grape Leaves was...

I mowed the lawn today...both the pullets an the ducks enjoyed the fresh cut grass.

The ducks enjoyed an early morning snack from an ant swarm...Didn't know that ducks liked to eat ants so much.
