Yesterday they all got warm Oatmeal mixed with sliced hard boiled eggs (Duck eggs in the fridge in the garage FROZE and Cracked) and some mooshy cat food because when we woke up it was -6°F.. Brrrrr...
Tiny Bird Tim, one of the cute bantam cockerels we have, got to come down to the garden with me whilst I Picked beans today... He picked the leaves on the Green Bean plants, and found some nice weeds to eat (Namely grasses and Purslane. (Which I myself don't mind eating, either).)
BOSS, Kale, and Cucumber Peelings. Would give them the radish greens, but not sure if those are good for chickens.. Oh well. (Only thing that would make it better is if the Cucumbers were from our garden.. All of ours died.. )
My little Bantam mix (or possibly Japanese) named Roopert got his first taste of a blueberry today, and for a moment I thought I had broken the rooster. He started clucking and tidbitting so much it sounded like he was short circuiting.

I broke an apple for the pigs, and thought... hmmmmmmm... walked in with half an apple in each hand.. just about got bowled over by 15 excited chickens... I didn't realize that Jonathon Apples with a few worms would be such a hit!!

We carved pumpkins on wedsday, and the turkeys and chickens helped... the only problem was, we had to fight them for the seeds... i like my baked pumpkin seeds. one of the silly birds had her head IN the pumpkin!!
My layers got a Bananna From School That I couldnt eat. No Peels, and My BUNNY, Bingo, Got the Peel!! The way I see it, Its an All Around Win Situation!!
