The big chickens and chicks have been getting scrambled or hard boiled eggs everyday. Since we are getting over 5 dozen eggs a day, I can afford to give some of them back to the flock.
Today the flock got some clabber, egg shells, veggies, some odds and ends, and some baked eggs that didn't cook long enough. The flock was thrilled about the later. Us, not so much.
The layerflock/ducks got a bucket of clabber, egg shells, bread, and other scraps, along with some beef liver and tallow. The bantams got 2 five gallon buckets of tender spring grasses and weeds, as they are still in their winter hoop house.

Tallow is rendered Beef Fat.
Yup, tallow is the rendered fat from beef or mutton. Actually, what I gave my birds was not rendered, so it would have really been suet not tallow.
It was overcast, and below freezing all day, so I gave the flock a chuck of tallow this evening. They loved it, and tore it into pieces in a few minutes.
It's windy overcast and cold so I'll probably make the girls a hot mash tonight. Hot food and water goes a long way in keeping them warm on cold winter days.
What type treats were you giving them that they stopped eating? It's possible that they are finding a lot of they're food foraging, so are no longer interested in treats. Are they laying well? Acting normal? Could there be something wrong with the feed?
The flock is getting one of their...
The girls ate well last night: Scratch, Sunflower seeds, egg shells, scraps, clabber, and moistened dog food. Egg production is already going up, an extra half hour of daylight really makes a difference.

Creasy greens are one of my favorite plants. They are great in stir fries!
