We got home after 2 days away. I made mine chopped kale, scrambled eggs, zucchini, corn, shredded apples, & a little wild bird seed. They were really happy to get it! Really hot here. Misters are going to help them cool off. They ate great.
Oh, I'm so jealous of your rain. I'm babysitting my 3 year old twins at the beach & it is almost 105. It's supposed to be 108 tomorrow, so we'll head home early tomorrow to take care of my pullets. They'll need some ice in nesting boxes & water. 117 in Palm Springs!
Today mine received kale, frozen corn & peas, some garlic triscuts, leftover white rice, half a butternut squash, flax meal, & a teeny bit of bird seed.
Nothing. We're out of town for the 1st time! We are selfishly going to a blues festival on Sunday. We spent today babysitting our 3 year old twin grandsons. We will head home Monday morning. The 1st thing I will do is fix their veggie salad & meal worm feast!
It's on the no no list, along with cabbage, but lots of people feed them to their chickens with no ill effects. I'm being cautious with my 7 week old chicks, but with so many people feeding cabbage, I'll probably give it a try. Raisins aren't good for dogs, I know for sure.
Today mine got kale, scrambled eggs, cooked macaroni, peas, corn, lentil sprouts, a little cantaloupe, topped off with mealworms. A giant tossed salad! They r almost 6 weeks old, so everything is chopped pretty finely for them.
We gave our 3 week old chicks live meal worms for the 1st time. They came running when I called them, but just looked at them for a little while. When they realized they were food, it was game on! They ran around & chased each other, stole worms from each other. It was too funny. They were berserk.
