I'll let my co-workers know that bit of feedback! I wish we had photos of all the roosters, too, but there are honestly so many that it would take a lot of work to get pictures of them all! My supervisor is a photographer, though, so maybe she'll be up to the task. We usually have people fill...

Yes, agreed... These are very nice roosters, pretty and friendly, and I think if the word got out more we would have better luck placing them. Oh well... I should ask my supervisor if she spoke to Animal Planet about it. I'm working on finding the roosters homes still, that's my job! I...

I dont feel bad for her at all.
She also abused her children..to the point they were removed by the state.
Shes a sick, cruel person. Some people are just that way... no rhyme or reason to it.
And i'm not making excuses for their sick behavior.
I agree. I know she's mentally ill...

I know, the one with Hanna was absolutely devastating! At least Peter cared about his birds, and treated them fairly well even though the conditions were unsanitary... What Hanna did was just sickening and horrifying! I wish I could take all of those birds away from her right now. It...
Thank you so much to everyone posting supportive messages for Animal Place! I know not everyone on here agrees with the morals behind the group, as it is essentially an animal rights group, but regardless we do help out a lot of animals who would otherwise be killed and make sure they are able...
We all have different perspectives. I see chickens as worthy of living out their full lives, like most people view a dog or cat. I know not everyone feels that way, though, obviously. Nonetheless, Peter wanted his roosters to go where they will not be killed, and that is exactly where they are.

Yeah, we're pretty frustrated that our group got cut out pretty much altogether with all the hard work we did! We certainly don't regret helping the chickens themselves because they are wonderful and we are so happy they're in a better place now, but we thought Animal Planet would help...

Really? I didn't see it, but I have the episode recorded so I can go look. That's a little bright spot, but we're still very unhappy with the lack of recognition. Just a second showing our site's URL would have been enough!
Well, darn, here the staff of Animal Place all got together to watch the episode and we were all excited, and we didn't get so much as a single mention! To be honest, we're fairly miffed, as our group was the one who went to all the trouble to catch, rehabilitate, and rehome these birds (and...
All right everyone--it's on tomorrow evening! Don't forget to tune in to see Nifty's television appearance, and get excited when Animal Place pulls in to take the birds because someone you talk to on BYC works there!
My co-workers and I are having a little viewing party for the episode. It...
Feeling much better this morning after some sleep and coming in to my desk to find a bunch of people calling about adopting the roosters--woohoo! This will keep me nice and busy today.
Yes, this is certainly the truth. Thanks for the good reminders, Nifty. Chickens are surprisingly misunderstood, considering that there are many more chickens on this planet than humans. I'm so glad to have BYC as a place to connect with others who see chickens as more than "that weird, gross...

Thank you for being supportive! Hopefully we'll get some good responses, too. You know how people can be about commenting on things online. (Any quick sweep of Youtube reveals this quickly! )
On a related note to this thread, lately Animal Place has been getting some publicity about the roosters rescued from this hoarding case who need homes. Our local paper carried the story, and KCRA came and did a story on the roosters as well. I was hoping we would get some encouragement and...

Yes, I'm hoping we will get some more people wanting to adopt those roosters! They are actually quite pretty fellows, and amazingly all fifty or so of them get along. Thankfully, because we are a sanctuary, any birds that do not get homes will still get to live out their lives happily...
Wow, Nifty, I didn't know you were involved as well! How wonderful! I'll look forward to seeing yet another person I know on the show, then. That's great Animal Planet asked you to be in it, too.
Yes, I've heard Peter was a very nice guy. I've just heard that the birds were breeding beyond his...
On January 14th at 10 PM, the season premiere of Confessions: Animal Hoarding is on Animal Planet. The episode features a chicken hoarder. This is an exciting episode for myself and my co-workers because it was our rescue group, Animal Place, that took the birds in! In fact, we still have a...
