Hi All, I have 3 roosters that need a new home. Free to whoever wants them, Donna gets first dibs...they came from her awesome eggs! All hatched in April. Two are from her Sapphire eggs and one is an enormous English Orpington. All well behaved around people, horses and dogs, just not around...

If you want organic, Hillsboro Hardware on 21st in Nashville has it from a local farm. My chickens have always loved it. It is not pelleted, has soy, corn, wheat? and vitamins. It is about 17$ for 25lbs. Expensive, but a good price for organic. I'm not sure where the farm it comes from is...

Ha! I guess they would, but metro lets you homeschool as long as you fill out a form before school starts. I keep track of my hours taught and turn it in at the end of the year. Easy peasy. We do every other year as a compromise. The hubs is supportive, but he also thinks "real" school is...

Thanks for the tip Leah! I had thought it might be better to use just one. I moved our little coop to a different run this morning. The girls actually sat in it the whole time I rinsed it down and dragged it across the yard! I think they really want to be mommas. :D

Ok, I would love some Rhodebar fertile eggs! I think I need to see how the hens behave over the weekend to make sure they are serious about being broody. As of today, 2 didn't leave the nest box…even while the rest of the girls basked in this beautiful sunshine. This will be our first go at...

We live just off West End Ave/ 440 and have had quite a bit of trouble with hawks. I left our babies out for about a minute and a half in the fall to fill up their water. Came out to find them huddled in the corner of the pen squawking. I counted and was missing one. About 5 minutes later...

Hi! Would anyone be interested in a free silkie? She was sold to us as a hen, but "she" is hopping on the other hens' backs and crowing. PM me if interested. Light grey silkie about 5 months old. Would love to keep him/her and have fuzzy chicks, but we are in the city and that crowing is...

No! We were at the Belle Meade PO. Funny, not sure they deal with many chick shipments around those parts. We live just off of West End. I have always called us the Belle Meade Hillbillies...now we really are with chickens!
