Thank you
& I will admit. I actually sold this chick to someone (we've since become good friends) when she was like maybe 2-3 weeks old. She sent me this pic a couple of days ago and I about fell off my chair.
So, anyways, she has given (traded) her back to me.
Again, she came from my...
Just throwing this out there but if anyway is ever around the Chattanooga/Ooltewah area and you want/need a bantam cochin (or two, three - lol) let me know I have an excess.
They are currently at my daughters because she has much more room/land where they all free-range pretty much all day...
Hey Mid TN friends - just letting you know I follow the thread but rarely contribute & enjoy the content & info.
Throwing this out there, in case, you ever make it around the Chattanooga etc. area (I'm more in the Harrison/Birchwood, north Hwy.58 area) but I have or will have quite a few...
Speaking from my daughters expereince......she has a begal. They have lots of wooded property but didn't want Scout roaming too much so they did the underground electric collar. WORKED/WORKS GREAT!!! After several weeks they turned it off and he will not go beyond the border of were the line...
Looking for FREE or very inexpensive hatching eggs. I would need them shipped Monday Feb. 4th. Of course I would pay shipping etc.
Not picky on breed/sz. I'm going to test some of my bantam & LF cochin eggs in incubator this coming week, first time, and just wanted to fill up incubator...

I am actually looking for some hatching eggs but really can't spend much and I know shipping/packing etc. alone can be $10-15 or so. So really I need someone willing to sell or give me free some eggs.
I'm going to test some of my...

Interested to hear others idea/opinions. I have a hen that just laid her first egg this last Sunday (our very first laid egg ever since acquiring chickens in June - woot woot & she's has laid one everyday now since sunday ). She hasn't I guess gone broody though and not really sure if the eggs...
It's here now and I am so nervous because I have eggs pipping as we speak in the incubator. Warnings etc. until 3am. I am beside myself, pacing the floor & nervous that we could lose power No back up, but you can bet I will have a car converter etc.& a full tank of gas next time I incubate.
as a newbie to the chicken world, I am glad to see & know that I am not the only one that feels the need to put a little jungle gym of sorts in my brooder for the little ones.
Good for you. I too went to a flea market with the intention of seeing what chickens were there, one time, saw the same thing and vowed I would never take any of mine ever to flea market to sale nor buy any at a flea market.
How sweet about his girlfriend. Hope it works out but if for some...
