Hey all, just figured I'd ask around here as well.. I'm looking for hatching eggs, interested in LF Cochins of BBS, or LF English type Orpingtons (they can have American in the bloodlines as well just want large) BBS. I've been on the auction, and I can't justify the price they want PLUS...
Anyone here raise EX-LARGE Cochins? I know they're already large, but the bigger and fluffier the better... looking for Blue or Splash (really want Splash though) and looking for chicks or friendly roosters.. Show quality a plus!
Thanks, I can e-mail her through hoobly. I've done business with her when she had BLRW's, I was gonna ask her about transport for a rabbit since the hoobly ad says she'll have spots available. I guess I'll wait to see if I can find someone else or just go myself since transport is so expensive...
Phew! It's still storming down here
I hope my little plants survive! My corn has just started poking out of the ground! My tomatoes are still small too. I hope it doesn't hail like it is in knoxville... my broody Silver Laced Wyandotte has a baby! So here's a pic of the one baby next to momma...
OMG Citygirl, I feel for ya! I'm a college student as well but I can't understand, it's not like it takes much time to fill water bottles/bowls up! I get lazy too from all the school days but every morning I top off all the water so I know when I get home no chickens will be dead. I'd never use...
HB, is Foley the person with BLRW? I really wanted some chicks of these but don't know where to find some of decent quality, prefer not to get from a hatchery.

Sounds like a plan. I'll need feed by then too. Want me to just pick out one of my leghornX hens? or do you a preference? Less spots, more spots, etc etc etc....LOL.
More spots if possible, and whichever one you think is the one that is the better broody.

We butchered the last of our male meaties (the red broilers from Ideal) More room for chickens!! Nella, I should be taking my grandmother her chickens on Tues. so I'll have the money soon, so we can talk about meeting up at LC Feeds or something after Tues, preferably not a weekend so...
@ Nella - O snap! That means I'd have to get 2!! good thing DH is asleep... I can't pay more than $10 per hen, (hence why I've had trouble finding one ) Once I sell 2 meaties to my grandmother (she's been waiting on my lazy butt to bring em from the freezer) I'll be able to get 2, one cochin...

Actually I hadn't even thought about it but I have a Rhode Island Red/Cochin cross hen who was recently broody and was a GREAT MOM. I took her away from her children at about 6 weeks old as I needed to combine batches of babies and she wanted to ensure death on anything not her own lol...
Hey Nella, how much? I'm really wanting a broody since I have such a small bator, are they known to be good broodys? Like brood til they hatch the babies? I thought cochins would be best but noone seems to have any for a decent price, you know? Not made of money O, I sound like my mom.... I...
Hmm... M'Boro is almost a 3 hour drive I don't know if I'd want to drive that far by myself.... Columbia's even further! I like the C'Ville idea (only 1 and half hour)!

I hate Davidson Co. that's where I got my first speeding ticket, I never got my warning!
I think we should have it in March or April, I should have more spending money then and hopefully not as much school work
Do you have any specifics of this Cookeville get together? If anyone has anything good for sale I may drive the hour and a half to go Since I get my incubator tomorrow I could get some hatching eggs...
