Looking at my most hopeful prospect for a roo this morning I noticed something. He appears to have fuzzy feathers on the middle toe. Now this is a DQ isn't it?
Is this something that would be passed on? Has anyone had experience with this in breeding? I plan on getting more stock still...
Hey Pink. I have two I believe pullets from you that I would consider low riders. They are Gnarles and a BC. They are such a different build with short little very feathered legs. I need to post some pics to show you. I think their beak and face are too dark. Looks all black. They are...
Ohh Wynette... I am so sorry. I understand how much dogs can be a part of your family. I love mine. Just remember how happy they were. Nothing can have a more joyful life than a dog.
Hmmm... that is interesting Ruth. I have never looked at the feathers like that. I will have to try that. I had 5 chicks that judging by there combs and wattles I saw two roos and they all ended up being pullets. I will have to check the feathers out on my birds now.
Wow. Thank you Village you have a great way of explaining things. You give me hope that I might get this genetic thing down someday. I really enjoy your posts.
It looks to me you have two pullets. No band and pink orange blue band. Thank you for the photos. It is interesting to see how much their leg color changed.
I just wanted share some photos of my first BC pullets. They are now six months old and just started laying. Egg color is not to bad hopefully will get a little darker. So far the color has not been even on the eggs. At least I can tell they are Marans eggs much darker than my hatchery...
