    Makes my sport of distance riding look all the better. Many horses compete into their 20s. Mine is 19 and still going strong. Got out to ride this afternoon and she was raring.

    If you read my post again, it mentions county fair shows, not the people who are showing at rated shows. These are people who are "imitating" what western pleasure should be and don't know how to make a horse move differently for different disciplines. These are people not working with trainers...

    I don't bother sitting through the western classes at the county fair unless someone I know is riding in them. Actually, at the county fairs, the only difference between English and Western is the saddle and outfits. Same horses, same dumped over gaits, same riders trying to have a fashion show...
