Well...I have been a member of this thread since the beginning...made a great deal of friends which makes this so very hard. It has been tried to discredit me as a breeder which is really sad because I have worked very hard on my farm. But...I am tired and feel it is time to move on as others...

When eggs are first lain they are a bit pliant. I don't know if that lets the color penetrate better or not. Sometimes colored eggs will vary in color shade. Maybe the glands are more up in the chicken than the site I was reading mentioned. I know a lot of my maran eggs would have scratches on...

Ok...here is your "Did you know...for the day" Did you know.....that eggs are white while inside the hen. The color is added by glands at the entrance of the vent. So when a hen lays the color is added as it leaves the chickens body.

Try a 3 inch layer of crusher run and on top of that put 5-6 inches of sand. Make sure you have something built around your run so the rain does not run it out...like mine did. My boundary was not tall enough and it rain over the top. I lost about $90 of sand washed out into the grass. Believe...

You can take a dog kennel and put food inside it letting them eat for a few days. Maybe even move the kennel a foot or so each day. When you get them to a place that may be easier to catch up,,you can set the door with a string and pull shut. I use to catch feral cats this way..but hold on to...

Again...it is not healthy for a dog to be fed or permitted to eat raw meat! It does not mean "quality" meat or eggs makes it OK. This disturbs their digestive system and is not a healthy practice! Please do not keep insisting people do this as it is not good advice to those new to having their...
