    Thanks - I hope so... You can find food coloring at any grocery store. The bingo dots are like a bottle of ink w/ a sponge on the end - the Bingo players use this, rather than the red chips these days.

    Day 21 is today - hoping that they're just a bit late, but I'm starting to doubt it.... Congrats on your ball player!! I mark mine with little rubber bands and you can use zip ties as they get a bit bigger The ones I got from the hatchery had a purple bingo ink dot on their heads - I guess...

    Learned the hard way - you should calibrate your hygrometer (check online and it will come up) Depends on where you live and in house humidity - you want @65% humidity for Day 18-hatch I leave both my little red plugs out.

    LOL Hopefully, I can live vicariously through you, since you're a day ahead of me!! Get that brooder fired up and at temp, just in case!! Hoping for some really cute babies w/ beards!! (and a good percentage of pullets!!)

    I use a super high powered LED flashlight, so would need another set of hands to safely take a pic! I'll try tomorrow - everyone is in bed!

    This last hatch, I hatched in cut down egg cartons b/c I had several drown when they got kicked and the pip was face down.... Worked like a charm! I'd say they have to work a little harder to get out, but the other eggs didn't budge one bit!

    You can mark it many ways! I use little colored rubber bands and then zip ties when they get bigger You could also put a bingo ink dot on their head, if he/she is a lighter color (that's what McMurray did with my shipped chicks)

    I have eggs for the 23rd! 14 EE Candled last night and 12 look GREAT! Hope they all make it to the end!! I also set eggs last night to hatch on April 7th 20 BLRW 7 Black Copper Marans 8 Blue Copper Marans
